Choosing the Right Program for Your Child
Many of the families in this track are also coordinating ABA goals with an existing IEP or 504 plan. With your written permission, your child's BCBA can collaborate directly with their school team to keep home and classroom goals aligned which is something that comes up often for families in school-heavy communities like Newton, where Newton Public Schools plays a big role in day-to-day planning.
The School-Aged Track picks up where our School Readiness Program leaves off, shifting focus toward classroom-adjacent skills - following multi-step directions, managing transitions between subjects, and building the social skills that carry into group settings at school.
How Foundations fits around the school day
School-aged hours are a scheduling problem before they are a clinical one, and we plan them that way. Most families on this track run sessions after school and at weekends, with the number of hours set by the assessment rather than by what is left over in the diary. Where a child needs more than the afternoons allow, some hours move to our Norwell center and the rest stay at home.Coordination with school is the part that makes the difference. With your written consent, the BCBA can share goals and prompting strategies with the team who see your child all day, so the same language is used in both places.
Where an IEP or a 504 plan is already in place, the ABA goals are written to sit alongside it rather than duplicate it. Consistency across settings is one of the strongest predictors of whether a skill holds once the session ends.If your child is younger than this track is built for, or the assessment points somewhere else, our full range of ABA programs covers the other stages, and children move between them as they grow.
Frequently Asked Questions
My child already goes to school — can they still do ABA?
Yes. Many children in this track attend school and receive additional ABA hours to develop and generalize skills. We build a schedule around school, and can deliver services in the center, at home, or in the community as the assessment recommends.
Where are you located, and do you offer in-home therapy?
Our center is at 70 Accord Park Drive in Norwell, MA, serving the South Shore, Boston metro, and North Shore. Depending on the program, we also provide ABA therapy in your home, in the community, and via telehealth.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. Rising Above ABA is in-network with MassHealth and most major commercial insurers in Massachusetts. Our intake team will verify your benefits and walk you through any out-of-pocket costs before you start — no surprises.
How long is the waitlist?
Most families wait far less with us than the three-month waitlists common across Massachusetts. Our goal is to move you from first contact to your child’s first session in about six weeks.
Does this program coordinate with my child's IEP or 504 plan?
Our BCBA can collaborate with your child's school team, with your written permission, so home and classroom goals stay aligned - including working alongside an existing IEP or 504 plan.
