How your tween builds real-world skills
The pre-teen years bring new expectations. This program helps tweens who could use extra support with peer interaction, speaking up for themselves, managing routines like homework and chores, and handling big feelings — and it works because skills are practiced with real peers, not just taught in isolation.

1. Learn 1:1
A BCBA-led plan teaches each skill with individualized coaching.

2. Practice with peers
Small-group sessions put skills to work in real situations.

3. Extend it home
Brief caregiver coaching keeps strategies going at home and in the community.
What your tween will build
- Social communication — turn-taking, conversation, perspective-taking.
- Self-management — homework routines, chores, organization.
- Coping and emotional-regulation strategies for frustration and problem-solving.
- Independence skills for home and community settings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my tween need to have an autism diagnosis?
Our programs serve children with an autism diagnosis, and ABA is typically covered by insurance in that case. If you’re unsure whether this is the right support, our intake team can talk through your tween’s needs and the next steps.
Will my child see the same therapist?
That’s the heart of what we do. Consistency is how kids make progress, so we protect the therapist-child relationship and give every family one dedicated point of contact from the first call.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. Rising Above ABA is in-network with MassHealth and most major commercial insurers in Massachusetts. Our intake team will verify your benefits and walk you through any out-of-pocket costs before you start — no surprises.
How long is the waitlist?
Most families wait far less with us than the three-month waitlists common across Massachusetts. Our goal is to move you from first contact to your child’s first session in about six weeks.
